Ainanet is a city social network: a feed, aina short videos, chats, a marketplace and pages of local businesses — and a map that shows where those places are. Below are answers to common questions and how to reach us.
Quick help
Signing in
On iPhone and iPad, sign in with Apple. On Android, sign in with Google or Apple. You fill in your profile yourself.
Private account
Profile → Settings (gear) → “Private account”. Your posts are then visible only to approved followers, and new follow requests need your approval.
Report or block
Tap “…” or press and hold on a post, comment, message, group, profile, listing, offer or map place, then choose “Report” or “Block”. Blocked people disappear from your map and can’t message you. We review reports within 24 hours.
Hide me on the map
Profile → Settings (gear) → “Hide me on the map”. To stop sharing location entirely, turn off location access for Ainanet in your device settings.
Groups
Create a group chat of up to 100 people from those you follow. The creator is the admin and can appoint other admins and manage members.
Delete account
Profile → Settings (gear) → “Delete account”. Your profile, posts, listings, offers, chats and media are deleted permanently.
Your exact location is hidden
Other members never see your exact location: your pin is always shifted by about 1 kilometer, so the map cannot point at a building, a yard or a street. No real distance to you is ever revealed: the app measures distances to that shifted pin, never to where you actually are. You are on the map only while the app is open: your position is taken when you open the app, it does not follow you around, and as soon as you leave the app your pin disappears from everyone else’s map. Tap the eye on the map, or Profile → Settings (gear) → “Hide me on the map”, and no one sees you there at all.
Finding people on the map
People can be looked up on the map by profession only — and only those who switched on “Let people find me by profession” in their profile. The switch is off by default: until you turn it on, your pin carries no profession and does not appear in that search. In the apps no pin shows a country and there is no filter by country. On the website you may choose to show your country’s flag on your pin instead of your profession; then people from your own country (and only your own) can find you by it.
